Nico Muhly and Sam Amidon together with a long time friend and collaborator Doveman (aka Thomas Bartlett) head out on a tour that will bring them to 12 cities in the US and Canada in August 2008.

Sam and Valgeir head out on a joint-headline tour that starts tonight (Saturday, May 10th) in Reykjavík, Iceland. Both artist will be performing full sets from their recent Bedroom Community albums All is Well and Ekvílibríum, respectively.

In a true Bedroom Community fashion Valgeir will join Sam’s line-up and vice versa, and they will also be accompanied by 3 Icelandic musicians: Una Sveinbjarnardóttir on violin/mandolin, Sigríður Sunna Reynisdóttir on accordion/electric piano and Rebekka Bryndís Björnsdóttir on bassoon/cello.

Merkin Hall, NYC - Thursday, 8th May at 8:00 PM
Nico is performing at Merkin Hall, in a double-bill with composer Phillip Bimstein. NIco is going to be performing two large works: Mothertongue, for mezzo-soprano Abigail Fischer, and Wonders, for Helgi Hrafn Jónsson.
Both works are from Nico’s upcoming album Mothertongue

Bright Mass with Canons.
Nico explains: “I wrote this mass for liturgical use, and as a result it only appears as part of services on Sunday mornings a few times a year. This is a treat to be able to hear it all in sequence, with the choir facing frontwards.”
